We need you at Willow Park Ecology Centre to enjoy being outdoors, breathing great fresh air and listening to the gentle flow of the Creek and the returning robins while caring for the nature park to protect wildlife and their ravine homes. We help habitats support the biodiverse-rich corridor and we enable children and adults to experience its many gifts through environmental education and recreational programming.
Together we will care for, and connect with, nature and each other enjoying sharing-in ideas, experiences and the fresh air that helps us all stay alive! We are in the Credit River – Hungry Hollow ravine, rich in biodiversity. So, when we collectively act to help and protect this local ecosystem we impact on many living critters and their survival and often see them as we tend to projects!
Planned Activities:
- Spring gardening at the Native butterfly and pollinators habitat gardens
- Park clean-up
- Trails enhancements using woodchips along the Silver Creek Trail
- Visit Community Solar Recharge Station – a place to foster the mindset of how much our personal choices connect to global impacts (Earth Day theme)
- Browse our Little Library and Garden Swap, enjoy refreshments
- Bring your donations of books, gardening supplies or a non perishable donation to our Food Bank Drive
For the Ecology Centre, the Earth Day event launches the Volunteer Mentorship Program Take-Action-Days, which runs all season and allows this unique urban nature park to thrive as an ecological reserve and community hub within the Credit River ravine in Halton Hills.
