Celebrate the Winter Solstice on December 21, 2025, from 3-4 PM with an hour of interactive activities and a festive atmosphere. Join us to honor the season's transition and connect with the community in a meaningful way.

Join us to celebrate the sun's rebirth, and a recognition of the LIGHT within others and ourselves. Genevieve Lim (Maha Kali Jaya) will facilitate our solstice celebration while immersed in the beautiful ravine along Silver Creek and the Credit River. Park at Mary Street, Norval. On the GO bus line. Meet under the big Black Willow tree near the Butterfly Garden. Nominal $5 fee, accepting donations as a sliding scale.

What to expect: • Fire ceremony • Meditation to connect with Mother Earth • Gather with a sacred community of like-minded people • stay to mingle after. What to bring: • Blanket • Chair / Mat • offerings for Mother Earth that you feel called to • Your mindset to set intensions and let go of things that no longer serve you. Dress for the weather.

Winter Solstice, also known as the pagan festival of Yule, marks the mid-point of winter and brings the promise of new beginnings as we move out of the darkness and into increasingly lighter, warmer days. It signals the return of light after the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere as from this day forward a new cycle begins of increasing daylight as the sun begins its journey Northward.

Winter is the season of stillness and rest, during which time plants and animals slow down to conserve energy. Whilst the outer world appears still, deep within the earth much activity is brewing, with seeds gestating ready to give birth in Spring. Likewise, we can use this time to withdraw and go within, to delve deep into our own inner worlds, to name our dreams and give birth to our visions.

As we release the dead wood in our lives, we make space for new opportunities to flow in and help us to move forward in the direction of our dreams. It is also a time to celebrate our accomplishments, and express gratitude for the blessings in our lives.
