Turn sap into sweet maple syrup during this hands-on experience in the sugar shack.    Discover how to identify and tap sugar maple trees, collect sap and use an evaporator to make maple syrup. Learn how to measure sugar content and grade maple syrup. Taste different grades of syrup before preparing your own bottle of maple syrup to take home. Space is limited with 10 tickets per tour. Must be aged 16 years and older to attend. Sessions start at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m.   Visitors can also purchase maple syrup and maple products from the Park Store before or after your experience.    Tickets are available starting February 7th: $50 plus tax.

Event Submission Guidelines & Criteria:

The Happening in the Hills Event Calendar is designed to showcase events that enhance Halton Hill's appeal as a destination and encourage visitation. Our focus is on events that contribute to the cultural, tourism and economic vibrancy of the community.

Calendar Policy:

  • Events must be held in the Town of Halton Hills 
  • Events must be open to the public and of interest to locals and visitors, and taking place for a limited time

Calendar does NOT accept:

  • Political rallies
  • Religious/worship services
  • Sales or Promotions
  • Happy hours
  • Recruitment events (job postings, call for talent or exhibit artists)
  • B2B events (Private Corporate Events and Conferences)
  • Hyper-local or private community activities (e.g. church bake sales, retirement home events, school fundraisers)

Submission and Posting Timeline:

  • Events must be submitted through Visit Halton Hills' website here. 
  • Visit Halton Hills aims to post approved events within 72 business hours of receiving a complete submission (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays).

All event submissions are subject to review by Visit Halton Hills. Inclusion on the Events Calendar is at our discretion and based on alignment with our Economic Development and Tourism Strategy.
