Dr. Michael Dixon is University Professor Emeritus and Director of the Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility (CESRF) at the University of Guelph. Dr. Dixon is the visionary behind the Tomatosphere™ project, which allows Canadian students to grow seeds that have been to space. He will be discussing the Canadian Space Agency’s Deep Space Food Challenge, and he will also share insights on new, sustainable technologies for food production that are inspired by space exploration. This event is part of the Halton Hills Lecture Series. Tickets are available through the John Elliott Theatre Box Office.
